In 1960s nyc, Walter Stackhouse is a successful architect married to the Clara who leads a perfect existence. However, his desire for a unsolved murder leads him into a spiral of insanity as he is made to play cat-and-mouse with a smart killer along with an overambitious detective, even while at the exact same time lusting after another woman.
