Romance novelist Liam Bradley (Dylan Bruce) has found massive success with three novels written under the penname Gabriel August, however he's mysteriously unknown to his legions of readers. Along with his first book written as a way to heal following a broken relationship, Liam has slowly become disheartened with writing strictly for romantic fantasy, something clear to a candy, but honest, journalist that reviews novels, Sophie Atkinson (Amy Acker), that he meets by chance on the plane. The two begin a relationship in the city of Portland, Oregon, at which Liam has come to find inspiration of Sophie. Liam's agent places him on the spot using a reveal of the true identity of Gabriel August, but Sophie doesn't understand of his public persona. The more Liam prevents telling her truth, the deeper a hole he digs for himself. Will their romance survive once his authentic identity involves light?
