In 1919, Mathilde has been 19 yrs of age. Two years earlier, her fiancé Manech left for the front at the Somme. Like countless others he was"murdered on the field of battle" It's written on the state notice in white and black. But Mathilde refuses to trust it. She would know, if Manech had died. She hangs on to her intuition too tightly as she'd onto hope's previous thread linking her. An former sergeant tells her that Manech died in a trench named Bingo Crepescule's no man's property, in the company of four men condemned to die for wounds. Mathilde isn't fearful although her path is filled with obstacles. Whatever is achievable to someone who is willing to battle fate...
