Beasts of No Nation - 2015

4.1
A drama based on the adventures of Agu, a young child soldier fighting in an African country's civil war. Follows the journey of a boy, Agu, who is forced to combine a group of troops in a nation that is fictional. While Agu worries his commander and a number of the men around himhis Spartan youth has been cruelly shattered by the war raging through his country, and he is at first torn between conflicting revulsion and fascination Depicts the mechanics of warfare and doesn't shy away from explicit, visceral detail, and paints a complex, difficult movie of Agu as a kid soldier.

I don't cry over movies but I did cry when Striker died cuz the life of a soldier is not something most folks will ever understand if they haven't lost a fellow comrade π―

funny how someone that you who's been through that much trauma can become a teacher without the knowledge of one....this has to be one of the best movies I've seen in a long, long time. Thank you.
