Back in 1932, a cop is killed and Frank Wiecek sentenced to life. Eleven years later, a newspaper ad by Frank's mum leads Chicago reporter P.J. O'Neal to look in the situation. For quite a while, O'Neal continues to trust Frank guilty. However, when he starts to change his own thoughts, he matches immunity from authorities unwilling to be shown incorrect.
