In 1914, together with Italy intending to enter World War I, a commune of younger artists out of Northern Europe builds itself on the coastal island of Capri, a safe refuge for dissidents and nonconformists from all over the world, such as Russian exiles led by Maxim Gorky, preparing into an impending revolution. This girl Lucia meets the leader of this commune, Seybu, also Carlo, a doctor.
