Alex McPherson returns to the small town in Pennsylvania where she spent her summers as being a girl to record the next episode of her crime podcast that is true, regarding the disappearance of a childhood friend. But after teaming up with the local paper editor, who reluctantly agrees to help her retrace the girl steps, Alex finds a murder, but in addition the facts behind the girl's disappearance along with its own cover-up.
