The night of August 24, 1944. Paris' fate is at the control of General von Choltitz, governor of Grand Paris, who's currently preparing, on Hitler's ordersto blow up the capital. Even the descendent of a long line of Prussian men, the overall has never had some hesitation when it came to obeying orders. That is exactly what's on Swedish consul Raoul Nordling's mind because he takes the secret stairs that leads to the bundle of General von Choltitz at the Hôtel Meurice. The bridges to the Seine and the major monuments of Paris (including the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower) are mined using explosives, willing to be detonated. Armed with the weapons of diplomacy, the consul will try to convince the general not to check out the order of destruction of Hitler.
