Leading Bill Cage can be an officer who hasn't seen a time of combat if he dropped and is demoted into combat. Cage is murdered within moments, managing to take an alien down . He awakens back at the start of the same day and can be made to struggle and die again... and - as physical contact with all the alien has thrown him into a time loop.

I'm somewhat confused about the ending. he was mysteriously and magically resurrected. he's suddenly saluted and recognized as a major. everyone is back alive and the war is all but over. good movie though. I like all Tom cruise movies.

I was always hoping they'd make another one of these lived on repeat because they said they were marching on the Western front so that means that the war was not totally over it's just that they had one verdon.
