Escape from Sobibor - 1987

4.1
During WWII, the death camp in Treblinka had a getaway, inducing the Commandant in a similar camp in Sobibor to vow (actually sabotage ) his camp could never go through the identical task. However, those who were its captives, the Jewish laborers that was spared from the ovens, knew they were on borrowed time and their only hope was to escape... the only question was just how exactly to do it. On October 14, 1943, members of the underground resistance of the camp succeeded in covertly killing many of Allied guards and eleven officers. Of the 600 inmates in the camp, roughly 300 escaped, but most were later recaptured and killed. The escape forced the Nazis to close the departure camp, planting a woods and dismantling it.
