As kids in the Ekdahl family that is adoring, Fanny and Alexander love a life that is happy with their parents, that run a theater company. But the siblings end up in a home if his mother marries a bishop, after their father dies suddenly. The situation gradually develops worse although the bishop gets to be more controlling, but dedicated family relations make a concerted effort to aid Fanny, Emilie and Alexander.
