U.S. Navy pilot Lt. Jake Grafton and his bombardier buddy, Lt. Cmdr. Virgil Cole, are two soldiers inserted in the vietnamwar growing annoyed by the military's constraints on their missions. Despite the best efforts of their commanding officer, Cmdr. Frank Camparelli, to reengage them, this disillusioned pair opt to choose the war effort in their hands using an explosive struggle plan which may well get them court martialed.
