It's almost graduation day for high school seniors Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Chad, Ryan and Taylor -- and also the notion of heading off in separate directions after departing East High contains these Wildcats thinking they need to take action they'll remember for ever. As well as the remainder of the Wildcats, they stage a spring musical representing their hopes and fears about the long term and their experiences growing up together. But with graduation approaching and college plans involved, what will become of friendships of East High's senior Wildcats, romances, and the fantasies?
