At the present, artist Tom Warshaw recalls his traumatic coming-of-age. Being a 13-year-old growing up in new york in 1973, Tom hangs outside with Pappass. With Tom's mother battling with depression after the death of her husband, the boy has been left to his devices. When Tom develops a crush schoolmate Melissa, Pappass feels begins behaving erratically and abandoned.
