Jane Eyre is an orphan cast out as a young girl by her aunt, Mrs. Reed, and delivered to be raised into a brutal charity school for females. There she eventually seeks employment and learns to become a teacher. Her advertising is answered by the housekeeper of Thornfield Hall, Mrs. Fairfax.
