John Carter is really actually just a war-weary, former military captain who's inexplicably transported to the mystical and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars) and reluctantly becomes embroiled in an epic battle. kind of mindless, but that's Hollywood. who knew they speak English on Mars. Who knew they even referred themselves as Mars. Forget about a sequel this one bombed at the Box Office.
