Soren, a young barn owl, is contested by OWL-S of all St. Aggie's, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He along with his new friends escape into the island of Ga'Hoole, to aid its commendable, wise owls that struggle the army being produced by the wicked rulers of St. Aggie's. The film relies on the first 3 books in the series.
