Longtime Companion - 1989

4.1
Longtime Companion follows the lives of a tiny circle of friends from the very first mention of the disease at the New York Times from 1981. First referred to as"Gay-Related-Immune-Disorder," people see the effect of the disease since it devastates the lives of our protagonists. Constructed between Fire and Manhattan Island, vignettes carry us against the it-couldn't-happen-to-me mindset of their ancient days of the disease into the effect it's had on most of our own lives, today. The film's name comes from the New York Times' refusal to admit gay relationships in their section during this age. Rather, squirrels were referred to as"Longtime Companions" of this deceased
