On your afternoon in 1940 which Italy enters the war, a couple of things occur to the Renato: he gets his first look, and he gets his motorcycle. She's a beautiful outsider who's moved to be with her husband, Nico. He promptly goes off to war, leaving her to the sharp tongues of those ladies and the lustful eyes of those men. During the upcoming several decades, as Renato climbs toward manhood, he sees Malèna suffer and establish her mettle.
