A prototype rocket carrying wasps to outer space to examine the effects of weightlessness and radiation on them crashes into the African rainforests. The two astrobiologists in charge of the experiment lead an expedition to the Darkest Continent to collect their experiment, only to discover that the wasps have grown to monstrous proportions, terrifying all kinds of life in their search for sustenance.
