When legions of monsters, called as Kaiju, started rising from the ocean, a warfare began consume the resources of humanity for decades on end and also that could take tens of thousands of lives. A special type of weapon has been devised: gigantic robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled by two pilots whose heads are locked in a neural bridge to combat the Kaiju. But the Jaegers are demonstrating not exactly defenseless facing the Kaiju that is relentless. On the verge of defeatthe forces defending humanity don't have any choice but to show to two unlikely heroes--a washedup former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and also an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)--who had been teamed to induce a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger before. They stand as the last hope against the apocalypse of mankind.
