A young slave girl, anna, befriended with their own elderly bishop, Polycarp, also is rescued and adopted by Christians in 2ND Century Smyrna. She struggles to reconcile her own beliefs Since Anna is taught by Polycarp along with her family. As soon as the Roman proconsul requires that most taxpayers worship Caesar to demonstrate their allegiance to Rome, the Christians along with Polycarp must find courage to endure contrary to the growing risk of persecution because of their faith. Anna is forced to come to grips with the truth and choose that which she is willing to live, and die for.
