She sacrifices herself to save her boy friend in doing this creates a horrifying discovery: there really is just a"movie within the movie" that no one has seen previously.

There's some inconsistency in this one... in the second movie it told of how Samara's mom tried to drown her as a baby so they locked her up and adopted Samara out to the Morgan family. Here they said that Samara was abandoned and they never knew where she came from. WTF?
