When an unidentified serial murderer begins slaughtering Dr. Peter Fales' patients, he and his daughter Alison are both placed under suspicion. Julie, who writes a syndicated column similar to "Dear Abby," is in one of Dr. Fales's therapy groups. Following a series of suspicious letters, she wonders if Dr. Fales is behind the murders as well as if her estranged husband is involved.
