Raw and unflinching examination of the courageous life of basketball star and social justice activist Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf. Born Chris Jackson, he overcame tremendous adversity to reach the NBA and found his true calling when he converted to Islam. His decision not to stand for the national anthem, however, turned him from prodigy to pariah. Told candidly by Abdul-Rauf himself more than 20 years later it’s the remarkable story of one man who kept the faith and paved the way for a social justice movement.

when you take a knee during the anthem you spit on all those who died to give u the opportunity to make millions playing a game. ya, f that!

Growing up as a kid I would watch Mahmoud Abdul Rauf play and even played with him on video games growing up but I never knew that his name was Chris Jackson. I also never knew that he got kicked out for the national anthem but I agree it's his choice because I'm the same way.

my question is, if he never was famous would they still wanted to me him? this world is screwed up! Racism is still around just done in a different way! Once this war happens, it won't be who your daddy or standing for the flag, or what GOD you serve!
