This version of the movie is based on footage shot with director Richard Donner before being substituted on the undertaking, and it has material not found in the original 1980 release of the film.

This explains the questions I had with the original. Like how did he get his powers back? Jor-El told him he couldn't and yet he just shows back up with them. Then says to Zod, care to step outside??? Lol
