Even a scientist sequestered at a mansion near a town arouses the suspicion of the physician of their town when his laboratory assistant is found dead from an instance of acromegaly which took just four days to develop. As the physician explores, aided by the scientist assistant, they discover that something bigger and more than it ever should be, is currently devouring local cows - and - humans - in large amounts.
