Air Force Colonel Kenneth Penmark and his wife, Christine, dote in their union, Rhoda -- as does their lonely landlady. But self-centered Rhoda comes with a tendency for selfishness and likes to collect gift ideas, stolen or whether given, within her own room. Christine keeps her knowledge of her daughter side to himself, however when a school mate of Rhoda's dies her selfdeception unravels.
