Subsequent to the parents of Ruby and her younger brother, Rhett, are murdered in a car crash, their parents' best friends, Terry and Erin Glass, become their guardians. The kids hear asserts of a world of California and opulence pleasure -- all they have to do is move into the Glasses' residence. Before very long Ruby suspects that Terry and Erin might not be the guardians they looked to be.
