Douglas Elmore can be care-taker and an alcoholic writer pursued by forces and haunted by dreams of his dead wife bent on revenge for his past deeds. When tenants start turning up dead in the halls and stairwells of his apartment construction, Douglas suspects a homeless prostitute called Karna who sleeps in his basement and prowls the vacant city by night. But as the bodies piled up, Douglas is torn between his obsession with Karna and the threat of becoming a prime suspect in a murder investigation. Douglas has to locate the origin of this evil living prior to the keys of his past reunite to kill him.
