Felix Ungar has only broken up with his spouse. Despondent, he belongs to kill himself but is rescued by his friend Oscar Madison. Oscar urges Felix to relocate with him , at least for a little while, with nowhere else to go. The only problem is that Felix is tidy very neat, and tired, where as Oscar is slovenly and casual.
