Lloyd and caroline are a couple that is married constantly at each other's throats, masters at crafting acid-tongued barbs at another's expense. They are so obsessed with belittling each other which they never stop -- not really at gun point. The gunman is Gus, a thief on the run from the police, that kidnaps the couple within an insurance policy, intending to make utilize of their home as a hideout. But a lot more than Gus forcing him into the unenviable role of peace maker -- with regard to their or her own sanity is proven by their incessant bickering. To make things even worse he discovers he has accepted the couple hostage the night of their big Christmas party, and the guests are already on the way.
