The Summit is just a 2012 documentary film concerning the 2008 k 2 disaster directed by Nick Ryan. It combines dramatized recreations of these events of the 2008 disaster and documentary footage. Along the path to and from the summit, eleven climbers died during a short span of time in history creating a few of the catastophes. Much of the documentary footage was recorded from Swedish mountaineer Fredrik Sträng. Sträng was intending to complete a Documentary which was aborted as a result of this fact that he didn't reach the summit. The footage was valuable to simply help solving exactly what did happen since the climbers had different stories on what happened.
