Back in 1957, a boy and mum flee also an abusive boyfriend along with the East to find a brand new living, and end up at Seattle, where the mum meets a considerate garage mechanic. The boy gets in to trouble. Mother danced the mechanic, however they soon learn that he's an unreasoning and violent alcoholic, and so they fight to maintain hope in a hopeless position while the boy grows up to escape the small town by any means possible.
