Back in 1831, Irishman Charles Adare journeys to Australia to start a brand new life. If he arrives he matches with ex-convict and also powerful land owner, Sam Flusky, that wishes to do a business deal together. Whilst attending a dinner party at the house of Flusky, Charles matches Flusky's wife Henrietta that he'd known as a young child back. Henrietta is an alcoholic and seems to be on the point of madness.
