to finally know what he went through in that moment. nobody can convince me there is a good reason they didn't have a battleship escorting them during this time. and I'll never understand it either. they failed them all but ruined families as well. they failed to protect them.

my grandfather was a very good loving husband and father. he died of brain cancer when I was 6yrs old. I found him. he went from being a very strong willed man's man to an innocent child from cancer. I remember watching him wither away slowly. it broke my grandmother

my grandfather was on that ship. they glorified it a lot. they were not floating in tubs like in the movie, my grandfather was floating on a plank of wood while watching his comrades were being eaten by sharks. he died decades later, as a full-fledged Mason.

they were not given an escort like they should have been given. only a battle ship has the ability of being the escort ship. why they weren't given one I've never learned. this will be my first time watching this movie. I'm kind of nervous to watch this.

him surviving that tragedy ensured my birth, my brother's birth, my cousin's births. he is the reason that many lives have come to be. if he had died , none of us would have been born. this was before he had children of his own. so thank you grandpa.

That's the military. Someone must take the blame. But not the politicians who gave the order.
