Novalee Nation is a 17-year-old Tennessee transient who has to mature in a rush when she is left pregnant and left by her boyfriend in a road side at Sequoyah, Okla., and takes refuge in the friendly aisles of Wal-Mart. In short order, some bizarre, kindly strangers"adopt" Novalee and her baby daughter, helping to buck the odds and develop a brand new life.

This movie is so good, and it's a great interpretation of how chaotic life is. From the amount of abuse, different forms of loss, and all the good. I felt so bad for lexie when she found out what happened to her oldest kids....
