Sally Field received a Primetime Emmy Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her performance throughout the series. Rachel Griffiths was also nominated for two Golden Globe awards and two prime time Emmy awards for her work with the show.On ABC, the show completed its fifth and final season in May 2011. On May 13, 2011, it had been announced that ABC had decided to end the show.
