James Stewart plays the quintessential absentminded professor: bizarre, Theodore Honey, forgetful, however vibrant to aeronautical engineer. His studies show that the aircraft being manufactured by his own company includes a subtle but mortal design flaw which manifests itself only once the aircraft has flown a number of hours.
