After the dinosaur families get trapped in a valley by an ice storm, then one category of"surge tail" dinosaurs volunteers to quit since they absorb more food than others. The young dinos and a new adult dinosaur called Mr. Thicknose, go out to bring back their friend Spike, who's abandoned his friends to be with associates of his species.
