Jan-Erik Widgren meets the lonely Bertha Olsson, a woman. Though Bertha is already linked to Caligula she begins a relationship with all the boy. He begins to torture his student emotionally when Caligula finds that Jan-Erik is having an affair with Bertha. He also reserves his cruelest behaviour for Bertha which leads to a tragic turn of events.
