The humor, which occurs in a fictitious desert town near the U.S.-Mexico border, centers around the intertwining daily lives of neighbors Bud Buckwald and Ernesto Gonzales. A father of three, bud, is a Border Patrol agent who feels threatened. Living nearby is father of four, who is pleased to be making it, an Mexican immigrant and Ernesto. Their own families eventually become bound by friendship, love and conflict Since Bud and Ernesto's paths begin to cross.
