Empty Nest is an American sitcom that aired on NBC from 1988. The series had been made as a spin off of The Golden Girls manufacturer Susan Harris and by founder. Empty Nest was one of the top 10 programs of those year. It had been produced by Witt/Thomas/Harris Productions in association with Touchstone Television.The show concept borrowed some parts from the comedy series Father, Dear Father, additionally comprising a father alive together with both daughters and large dog. But unlike that series, the two daughters in Empty Nest are self-supporting adults, and also the lead character is just a widower.Empty Nest was a portion of NBC's Saturday night block and throughout its four seasons it aired at 9:30pm ET after The Golden Girls.The two of these cast were alumni in one of Susan Harris' prior shows, Soap. Mulligan was Manoff's Father in Law in Soap.
