War breaks out between the feudal Northern Wei and Southern Liang kingdoms during the Great Unrest of 4th-century China. General Lin Xie of Liang leads his lone 17-year-old son, Lin Shu, into battle and defeats the enemy Wei army. However, when a political adversary frames General Lin Xie, 70,000 Chiyan army soldiers are killed. Lin Shu is able to escape with his life thanks to the assistance of a devoted subordinate. Lin Shu founds the Jiangzuo Alliance and returns to the city as Chief Mei Changsu twelve years later.
