A new Victoria"Vic" McQueen finds she's got the capability to unlock portals which help her find lost objects. Since she delves further into this hidden universe, she experiences a number of other"inscape travellers" - some benevolent, and some who've been tainted by their own power. She makes a sworn enemy of Manx when Vic experiences Charlie Manx, an immortal that stays like that from feeding off of the souls of children.
