Thirty-nine-year Older divorcé Louise Harrington (Linney) works in the admissions office in Columbia University School of the Arts. She is unnerved when she receives an application from F. Scott Feinstadtthe exact identical name of her high school sweetheart who had been murdered in an auto accident, also calls the student to arrange an interview. His physical appearance, mannerismspainting personality closely resemble the ones of her love, and she begins to guess that the young artist could possibly be the reincarnation of her old fire. Hours after meeting, the two embark upon an event. Also complicating the life of Louise are her association with her own ex-husband Peter, who confesses he's learning to deal with a sexual addiction that plagued their union. Her ne'er-do-well brother Sammy, who's favored by their mother Ellie despite his short comings. And also her friend Missy, who seems intent on doing exactly the same using the contemporary version also uttered the initial Scott before his passing from Louise.
