In this adventure pre-teen inventor Lewis creates a memory scanner to regain his recollections and find out why his mother gave him up for adoption. But whenever the machine is stolen by the villainous Bowler Hat Guy, Lewis is ready to stop on his pursuit until the Wilbur Robinson shows up whisking Lewis towards the near future to get his mom and the scanner.
